GUNFIGHTERS Ltd.

Combat Shooting Methods for Real World Encounters.

COURSE CURRICULUM

General

At GUNFIGHTERS LTD. the course curriculum is designed to increase an operator's ability to employ the combat pistol, combat shotgun and tactical rifle with increased proficiency and instill greater confidence in the operator's ability to employ his/her weapon in combat shootings. Additionally, each course is structured to allow the operator to develop the necessary gun handling and shooting skills to maximize his/her ability to rapidly end an armed confrontation. Based upon my many years of experience in training hundreds of students in the use of the combat pistol, combat shotgun and tactical rifle, I have developed a method of training that brings the operator through three phases of training. Below is a brief summary of the contents of each of the three phases of training. Training in each of the three weapons systems (combat pistol, combat shotgun, and tactical rifle) follow the same basic pattern with specific training geared for each weapon system.

SEQUENCE OF TRAINING

Each of the four phases of training is one day in duration.

PHASE ONE

  • Baseline combat shooting skill development

  • Characterized by static, repetitive shooting drills

  • Methods must be time-tested, reality based and combat proven

  • Shooters personal ability must be tested using relevant means of evaluation

PHASE TWO

  •  Developing reaction time shooting

  • Integration of movement into training Develop reaction time shooting

  • Developing IMMEDIATE ACTION DRILLS

PHASE THREE

  • Shooting while moving shooting at moving targets shooter and target moving simultaneously

  •  Introduction of force-on-force training concepts in dynamic range training exercises

  • Use HUMAN TARGETS for STIMULUS/RESPONSE training

  • Use prearranged scenarios to teach target engagement while using soft air technology and human targets

PHASE FOUR

TASK ORIENTED COMBAT QUALIFICATION COURSE (TOCQC)

  • This course is a series of qualification drills designed to verify the students ability to apply the concepts taught in previous courses.

THE TASK-ORIENTED QUALIFICATION COURSE (TOQC)

  • This is a two-day formatted course designed to develop the base-line skills needed to certify on the Task-Oriented Qualification Course (TOQC).

  • My proprietary SEVEN STEP TRAINING PROTOCOL is presented in this course.

This course is specifically designed to accomplish the following:

    1. Instruct officers in Target-Focused Shooting methodology

    2. Instruct officers in the use of one-handed, two-handed and support-hand only combat shooting methods.

    3. Develop the ability to engage threats while utilizing vertical and horizontal cover

    4. Integrate Target-Focused Shooting and the pistols sight system at appropriate engagement ranges.

  • Qualify the officer in the Task-Oriented Qualification Course (TOQC)

This course is highly recommended if an agency wants to upgrade their entire department training and utilize the Tasks-Oriented Qualification Course (TOQC) as a departmental qualification course. Please contact me if further information about this course is needed.

Summary

By completing the training cycle outlined above, the student will be able to more rapidly engage hostile targets in a manner consistent with the way his/her weapons will be used in combat. The purpose of the training protocol I have developed is best summarized by the motto I have included in the GUNFIGHTERS LTD. logo. "COMBAT SHOOTING METHODS FOR REAL WORLD ENCOUNTERS."
